Rebuilding Lives After Stroke
Dream | Believe | Achieve
Community
A welcoming space for stroke survivors, carers, and families to connect, share experiences, and support each other in a judgement-free environment.
Wellbeing
Providing group activities such as meditation, walking groups, and peer support chats to encourage confidence, social engagement, and mental wellbeing.
Connection
Our volunteers visit hospitals to connect with new stroke survivors, offering guidance, reassurance, and opportunities for social interaction throughout recovery.
Connect, Engage, Thrive
At the Bendigo Stroke Support Centre, we believe in the power of community. Our events provide stroke survivors, carers, and families with opportunities to connect, socialise, and support one another in a welcoming and inclusive space.
From regular peer group chats and meditation sessions to walking groups, luncheons, and movie afternoons, we offer a variety of activities to encourage confidence, well-being, and social interaction. Whether you’re looking for support, new friendships, or simply a chance to relax and enjoy time with others, there’s something for everyone.
Let’s do this together
The Bendigo Stroke Support Centre was founded by stroke survivors who recognised the need for a safe and supportive space to share experiences, build confidence, and navigate the challenges of recovery. Our volunteer-led organisation is committed to providing a community where survivors, carers, and families can feel understood, valued, and supported.
For over 25 years, we have been dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of those affected by stroke. We offer a variety of programs, from social events and group activities to hospital visits, ensuring that no one has to face recovery alone. Our mission is to empower stroke survivors to reconnect with their community, regain independence, and achieve their goals—because recovery is a journey best taken together.
